LAPEER — The Solid State Radio Live at The PIX series is returning for its second season at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8. These monthly Friday night shows each feature a different comedian and musical act.

This series allows local or up-and-coming performers a chance to be featured at The PIX Theatre, and gives the audience a Friday night out in downtown Lapeer. The shows include music and comedy. Lapeer’s own Solid State Radio will broadcast them live.

Shane Dials is an upstanding comedian with a genuine and charismatic presence. With a fresh take on anything from technology to relationships, he gets the audience to engage in his stories while explaining his observations of the world around us. His love of comedy doesn’t stop at the stage.

Dials interviews comedians from across the country every week on “This is Funny, Right?”, his comedy based podcast. Dials has opened for Ian Bagg at Mark Riddley’s Comedy Castle and performed at the world-famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Dials was the winner of the Detroit Steam Vodka Comedy Contest and has been featured on Laugh Fest, Paul Bunyan and Live Laughs Comedy Festival as well as the Cincinnati Brew Ha HA Comedy Festival.

Brian Redigan and Blane Martinez have been in various local bands over the past 15 years, including Weto and the Bean Dippers, Love Bean, and Stone Teller. They are now playing mainly as a two-man group in the Pontiac, Waterford and Lapeer areas.

Mitch Gill, host for Live from The PIX, was born and raised in Michigan and has been a professional announcer for more than 25 years. He was a disc jockey on the radio for 13 of those years. While in radio he held the positions of morning host, and production director.
