LAPEER — It’s a pirate’s life for some.

The Center for the Arts of Greater Lapeer is offering the community’s 8-16 year olds an opportunity to learn what it’s like to be a swashbuckling pirate with an exclusive Pirate School.

Scheduled for 7 p.m. at The PIX Theater in downtown Lapeer on Friday, April 14, Pirate School features lessons on how to be a sword-fighting pirate of the seven seas provided by the professionals at Ring of Steel Action Theater and Stunt Troupe. The event is limited to 30 students and tickets are $10. Everything needed in class is provided to enrollees.

The program is part of the CFA’s 8-16 Experience Series, a series of programs aimed at local youth ages 8 to 16. The programs are limited to a smaller audience and seek to be interactive experiences. These events often sell out and those interested should get their tickets as soon as possible to ensure a place for their child or children.

To reserve tickets for Pirate School, stop by the box office at Gallery 194 from noon-6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, visit CenterfortheArtsLapeer.org or call 810-664-4824. Gallery 194 is located at 194 W. Nepessing in downtown Lapeer. The PIX is located next door.
