LAPEER — The snowflakes in the sky mean winter is on its way, so it’s time to get out the holiday decorations. Young artists can craft ornaments for their tree with the new kits from the Art Pantry offered at Gallery 194 in downtown Lapeer.

Available clay holiday ornament kits include enough clay to craft a holiday snowman ornament and a Christmas tree ornament. The holiday hat ornament kit will help crafters make their own cozy little beanie from yarn to hang on the tree. Written instructions are included with each kit, but artists are encouraged to use their creativity or supplies they have at home to make a creation uniquely their own.

Gallery 194’s Art Pantry offers art kits that include just enough supplies to do one art project. To date, 2,400 kits have been given away to young artists in the community. Art kits for each project are available inside the doors of Gallery 194. The Gallery, located at the northeast corner of N. Court and Nepessing streets, is open for pickup Tuesday-Friday from noon to 6 p.m. The kits are free and offered on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
