Almont The Raiders dropped both sides of a home doubleheader, 7-1, 8-7, against Yale on Tuesday.

Griffin DePauw had a double and scored the only run for Almont during the first game. Mitch Proper and Chase Kapron both had a double, Nick Wilson had a single, double and RBI and Parker Zisler and Nate Thomas both had two singles apiece Kapron took the loss from the mound.

The nightcap was a different story for the Raiders on offense, though, but Yale managed a walk-off win after being down 7-6 in the final inning Wilson and Zach Filinger both had a double and DePauw, Proper and Adam Campbell each had a single. Filinger came in to close the game on the mound and took the loss.

Almont is at Armada on Tuesday. – A.V.

Almont: The Lady Raiders dropped both sides against Yale 13-3 and 13-10 Tuesday.

Laken Campbell had two hits, including a triple, scored a run and drove in two runs. Gillian Nichols, Sydney Marrone and Jaclyn Hellebuyck all had a hit and Nichols drove in a run.

In the nightcap, Campbell was 4-for-5 with four runs, Hellebuyck had three hits, drove in four runs and scored once. Nichols had two hits, including a double and triple, drove in four runs and scored a run. Marrone had two hits, both doubles, and scored once. Tyler Kautz had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs. Paige Walton had two hits, including a double, a run and an RBI.

Almont is at Cardinal Mooney today. – L.P.

Dryden: The Lady Cardinals dropped a pair of games to Byron 19-0 and 10-2 at home on Tuesday.

Alea Purdue had two hits with an RBI, Miya Wolff also had two hits with an RBI and Madison Purdue had one hit. Paige Abromaitis took the loss in the first game and Amanda Lemke was the losing pitcher in the second.

Dryden hosts Genesee today. – A.V.


Dryden: The Cardinals drew even at home with Memphis 1-1 Tuesday. Kaylin Norman notched Dryden’s only goal at the 10-minute mark of the opening frame, a score that held up until 15 minutes remained in regulation. Josie Carpenter made 14 saves for the Cards.

“The Dryden defense of Ally Sobek, Jordan Peters, Lexi Seitz, Maria Ryan and Alyssa Daoud was outstanding,” said Dryden coach John Burke.

Dryden is at Brown City today. – B.P.

LakeVille: The Falcons were shut out 8-0 by Lake Fenton Tuesday.

“Bre West made a number of strong saves in goal for us, which allowed us to regroup and finish the last few minutes of the half a bit more organized,” said LakeVille coach Adam Lucas. “Consistency for 80 minutes has been a focus for us this season and we need to keep working on achieving this consistency.” – L.P.
