Rowden Park on Saturday, Oct.

County businesses and service
organizations are invited to
participate with manning a free
station to entertain and treat
children. Kids and their families
can walk the paved non-scary path
to participate and receive treats
from as many as fifty stations.

13th Annual Columbiaville Chili
Cook Off located in the downtown
parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 14
from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contestant
or team entry fee is $15 with
prizes and awards all day for the
participants. Registration deadline
October 12 by 4 p.m. Also, that
day will be a cornhole tournament
supporting the Mighty Lady
Falcons Softball club at 1 p.m.,
pre-register $30 or $40 the day
of the tournament. Rock painting
and a coloring contest will also be
going on. There will be vendors
set up from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

male Comedy Beauty Pageant
at the Food Bank of Eastern

“Queen” at the end. Only 200

VOLUNTEER HERE

Drivers Wanted to help with the
Road to Recovery Program for
Cancer patients to get to and
from their appointments and
treatments. Road to recovery
is the American Cancer Society
volunteer-based driving program
and provides transportation for
undergoing treatments. Van is
provided for use. To become
a volunteer driver you must
possess current, valid driver’s
license, have good driving
record, and attend Road to
Recovery training program. For

Shoe Collection of gently used
shoes to help those in need and
money goes to helping Detroit
Bully Corps to rescue dogs.
Drop off location, 100 Lone Pine
Trail, Lapeer Township. Drop off
anytime, leave shoes on covered
back porch. Other drop-off location
listed on the website at dbcdogs.
org. Accept any style and size of
shoes, sandals, boots, heels,
flats, skates and rollerblades,
anything you wear outside on your
feet. Shoes must be in matching
pairs and cannot have major
defects. For every 25 pairs of
shoes we collect, DBC will receive
$10 from Funds2Orgs. Detroit
Bully Corps is a nonprofit canine
rescue and rehabilitation facility
located in Lapeer. We rescue
bully breeds, like the American
Pit Bull Terrier, Mastiff, Boxer

and Bulldog. The shoes will be
given to underprivileged people
in impoverished nations so they
can start micro-enterprises where
they repair, clean and re-sell the

organization serving pediatric
cancer patients and their
