Goodland Twp. library plans week of eclipse activities

GOODLAND TWP. — The Goodland Township Library is going all out with a week full of activities for the partial eclipse that will be visible in Lapeer County Aug. 21.

• The events will kick off at noon Aug. 12 with ice cream in a bag and paper circuits. At 1 p.m. Aug. 14 they’ll be making Earth-Moon-Sun models and eclipse art.

• Longway Planetarium staffer will come from Flint at 6 p.m. Aug. 16 to talk about the upcoming eclipse. And library staff will offer a constellation activity.

• Library visitors will have an opportunity at noon Aug. 19 to make sun prints and a bedroom planetarium.

The activities will conclude at 1 p.m. Aug. 21 with a safety discussion, eclipse viewing with special glasses provided by NASA and a sun print activity.
