Jack Russell’s Great White will perform on Sunday, Aug. 20 at this year’s Lapeer Days Festival. The group, headed by Jack Russell, the original lead singer for Great White, will perform all of his Great White hit songs. LAPEER — The Lapeer Days festival, Michigan’s largest free festival, is set for Aug. 18-20 in downtown Lapeer, and will again be offering the unmistakable sights, smells and sounds that come with it every summer. And the sounds this year are sure to please.

The Lapeer Days committee hand-selects the festival’s main stage entertainment, and always makes an attempt to maintain a blend of entertainment, always ensuring that there’s something for everybody. Friday through Sunday, the festival’s main stage acts will consist of country musicians, rock and blues acts, gospel performances, and a combination thereof.

Friday’s entertainers include several acts on both stages, including local and regional acts, as well as nationally recognized and renowned performers. The main stage performers will consist of mostly country musicians on Friday, while Saturday will host numerous rock and blues acts, and Sunday will return to country musicians, Christian acts, and family-oriented fare.

On Friday night, music will kick off on the main stage at 6 p.m. with Brian Lorente and the Usual Suspects, who will play until 7:30 p.m. Following will be Steve Armstrong and the 25 Cent Beer Band, who will play from 8-9:30 p.m. Closing out will be country musician Bryan White, who will headline the evening, playing the main stage from 10:30 p.m. until midnight.

Saturday evening will feature another great lineup, including Kixster, who will perform from 8:30-10 p.m., followed by headliner Hinder, who will perform on the main stage from 10:30 p.m. until midnight.

Sunday will host Christian contemporary artist Bruce Carroll from noon until 1:30 p.m., followed by Jack Russell’s Great White, who will play from 4-5:30 p.m.

“The Lapeer Days Committee is very excited about our musical acts this year,” said Neda Payne, executive director of the Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce. “Hinder was the result of a Facebook poll that the community responded to, and we felt Hinder would appeal to a wide age range. Bryan White is making his return to the country music scene in the U.S. with a new album that debuted on the country charts in May.”

The Lapeer Days Festival is produced by the Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, with major sponsors View Newspaper Group, DTE Energy and Hurley Medical Center.
