Marble Run Challenge to roll Thursday evening

LAPEER — The Lapeer District Library will host a Marble Run Challenge today (Thursday, July 13) at 6 p.m., at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch Library in Lapeer. Come use common household items to create a marble run. The team that creates the longest one wins a prize. Library to host program to make gifts for responders

LAPEER — The Lapeer District Library will host a First Responder’s Gifts program on Saturday, July 15 at 2 p.m., at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch Library (921 W. Nepessing St.). The police and firefighters put their lives on the line on a daily basis, so library staff would like to make small “thank you” gifts for them.

Show your appreciation for local police and firefighters by creating small gift bags, notes and cards.

There is limited space for this program and registration is required. To register for this program or for more information, contact the fiction desk at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch Library at 810-664-6971.

This event is part of the Lapeer District Library’s teen summer reading program, Build a Better World, and is sponsored by the Friends of the Marguerite deAngeli Library.

Autograph donations welcome for next year

LAPEER TWP. — In preparation for its Friday, April 6, 2018 annual Celebrity Autographed Items Auction, the Lapeer County 4-H Youth Program welcomes donations from the public of autographs of famous people.

Autographs can be of all types of wellknown people on any type of item; for example autographs on books, sports stars on balls, movie stars on photographs.
