Wild game dinner on April 1 to benefit Lions Bear Lake Camp
MAYFIELD TWP. — Take your taste buds for a walk on the wild side during the third annual Buffalo & Boar Wild Game Dinner from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, April 1 at Lions Bear Lake Camp.
As the name implies, the dinner will feature a main course consisting of wild boar and buffalo. There will also be a cash bar, entertainment, a silent auction and more.
“Along with raising much-needed funds for this great organization, we’re hoping attendees at the event will get the chance to see for themselves what a great resource we have in Bear Lake Camp,” said Rick Fleming, who serves on the camp’s board of directors.
Fleming added that while the camp is typically used in the summer, it is available year-round for any organization, like church youth groups, marching bands and more, to utilize.
Auction items include sportsman guided adventures, guns and more. Plus, there are a number of raffle items up for grabs, including a complete turkey hunting package, handguns, shotguns, rifles and crossbows, as well as a mystery gun. The evening will also feature three grand prizes that will be given away, including a Mission Crossbow Sniper Light Model, a Savage Model 220 20-gauge Slug Gun and a Thomson Center-Triumph Model FX 50-cal. Muzzle Loader.
Tickets to the wild game dinner are also $25 each and can be bought at the Lions Bear Lake Camp, 3409 N. Five Lakes Rd. or Hunters Den, 2110 N. Lapeer Rd. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.bearlakecamp.org.
“We look forward to a fun night,” said Fleming. “This is a great community event for a great cause.”
All net proceeds will support programs at Lions Bear Lake Camp for Special Needs children. Lions Bear Lake Camp is owned and operated by Lions Visually Impaired Youth Camp Inc., a 501(C) (3) charitable organization. For tickets or more information, call 810-245-0726.
