Photo by Jacob Hunsanger LAPEER — The Vietnam War memorial display in downtown Lapeer, created by the Nipissing Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), has been drawing visitors to see the photos, uniforms and other materials from local veterans over the past several days.

Located in the front windows of Beyer’s Furniture in downtown Lapeer, the memorial display was erected by DAR members who wanted to do something special to honor local veterans who fought and served in the Vietnam War. It will remain on display now through Veterans Day (Nov. 11) and until shortly before Thanksgiving.

The Vietnam display is a tribute to all those who served during the War, and includes memorabilia in honor of Veterans Day, according to DAR. The large display includes uniforms, posters, photographs, paraphernalia, examples of food and much more.

Any local Vietnam War veterans who have photographs or other materials that they would like to add to the display are encouraged to do so by calling Madolin Barry at 810-664-3142.

The Vietnam War memorial display can be seen in the front windows of Beyer’s Furniture, located at 441 W. Nepessing St. in downtown Lapeer.
