Book series comes to life in Lapeer

Michigan Chillers The Musical opens Friday


Michigan Chillers’ author Johnathan Rand. Michigan Chillers’ author Johnathan Rand. LAPEER — The much-anticipated Michigan Chillers the Musical, written by Chris and Sally Eilersen and produced by Lapeer Community Theatre, debuts Friday at the PIX Theatre at 7:30 p.m.

The opening night’s performance will also include a special meet-andgreet reception prior to the show with Michigan Chillers author Johnathan Rand. Rand will be present at both the opening and closing shows at the PIX Theatre. The opening night performance has almost sold out already, according to the PIX, as are the other shows and school performances.

Tickets will be available for sale at the PIX Box Office, located inside Gallery 194 in downtown Lapeer, or by calling 810-664-4824. Box Office hours are Tuesday through Saturday from noon until 6 p.m. Tickets are also available on the PIX website at www.pixlapeer.org.

Ticket prices will be higher at the door.

Anyone who purchases a ticket to the opening night performance will also be able to attend a special reception and book signing with Johnathan

Rand at Gallery 194 prior to the show. In addition, Lapeer Community Theatre is holding a book drive for the Family Literacy Center through the performance.

As an incentive, anyone who brings a new or gently used children’s book a any performance of Michigan Chillers the Musical will be given a special poster of one of Rand’s books.
