Miss Lapeer Days winners crowned
LAPEER — The PIX Theatre played host to a grand and elegant event on Saturday. The newly refurbished Miss Lapeer Days Pageant took place, with dozens of Lapeer County girls and young ladies participating and vying for one of four crowns and sashes.
The winners in the four age categories were: Emlyn Grace Sanderson-Smith of North Branch won Tiny Miss Lapeer Days; Madison Kozar, a Turrill Elementary student from Lapeer, won Little Miss Lapeer Days; Maria Rose Smith, a Zemmer Middle School student from Lapeer, won Junior Miss Lapeer Days; and Emily Forsberg, a Lapeer East student from Dryden, won the crown of Miss Lapeer Days 2013.
Those four lovely winners will now make up the Royal Court and participate in a number of activities throughout the year, starting next weekend during Lapeer Days. Each of the young ladies will be in the Lapeer Days parade, and the hundreds of local residents lining Nepessing Street will be able to get a glimpse of the court as they wave and drive past.
