Sidewalk, trunk and mom-to-mom sales in downtown
LAPEER — Downtown Lapeer is going to be buzzing with activity Saturday, with all kinds of special events and sales taking place. Through the organization of the Lapeer Downtown Business Association (DBA), shoppers will have the chance to find deals at the annual Sidewalk Sales, the second annual Mom to Mom Sale, the neighborhood garage sales and the first-ever Trunk Sale on Nepessing Street.
The Lapeer Farmers’ Market will be open during regular Saturday hours, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During that time, Nepessing Street from Mason to Cedar streets will also be shut down for the inaugural Trunk Sale event.
Also taking place Saturday will be the DBA’s annual Downtown Summer Sales, the neighborhood garage sales and the second annual Mom to Mom Sale on the courthouse lawn, next to the Farmers’ Market.
“I think they’re going to go really well,” DBA Director Mary Jo Wenzlick said of the events in downtown Lapeer Saturday. “There’s going to be so much going on.”
The DBA is still taking vendors for the Trunk Sale, which costs $20 per vehicle to participate, and the Mom to Mom Sale may be so large that it spills out into the street as well.
During the annual Sidewalk Sales, several businesses will be taking advantage of the closed street and moving out into the street to show and sells their products.
