If you’re feeling green after wearing the green call LA Taxi for a free ride
LAPEER — While St. Patrick is credited driving the snakes from Ireland, it will be LA Taxi that’s driving those who’ve over imbibed on his special day out of Lapeer and to wherever they want to go.
For the sixth consecutive year LA Taxi owner Angie McMillian is teaming up with Fabiano Brothers, a Budweiser distributor in Mount Pleasant, to make sure everyone gets home safely St. Patrick’s Day night.
“We’re normally closed on Sundays,” McMillian said, “but we’re going to be open all day” on St. Patrick’s Day. At least one local watering hole has gotten a special license to begin pouring green beer at 10 a.m. Sunday.
McMillian said her cabs will be offering free rides home to anyone who doesn’t feel safe to drive home from 6 p.m. until the bars close in Lapeer. She added LA Taxi will also be making pick ups at The Hitch-N-Post, Sawdust Corners, The Lake Inn and Side Tracks.
The company also offers the same service on New Year’s Eve.
