Lapeer Pickers Saturday night
LAPEER — One of the most unique and exciting shows of the season is coming to the PIX Theatre this weekend. The Lapeer Pickers performance takes place Saturday night, and it is one that Lapeer County residents and music lovers won’t want to miss.
Showcasing over a dozen local performers, the Lapeer Pickers show will be all about the music. In the first act of the performance, the “pickers” will play individual songs on the guitar, banjo or fiddle, including some original music. In the second act, all the performers will be on stage together for a casual jam session.
“It’s going to be really loose and a lot of fun,” said Craig Martin, executive director of the PIX Theatre.
Seldom are so many guitar players and musicians on stage at the same time, all playing together, so this is a unique show for music lovers in the area. The “pickers” range in genres from folk and country to bluegrass and blues. During the group performance, however, they will all have to play together in whatever style song is chosen.
The Lapeer Pickers show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are available online or at the PIX Box Office, and in advance cost $10 for adults or $8 for students and seniors. Tickets sold at the door will cost $14 for adults or $12 for students and seniors. For more information, go online to www.pixlapeer.com/lapeerpickers or call the PIX at 810-664-4824.
