North Branch: Readers who may have missed Wednesday’s County Press are invited to North Branch Friday as Birch Run and the host Broncos put on a special fundraiser for Vassar grad and football player Staff Sgt. Travis Mills, who lost both arms and legs while fighting in Afghanistan. Special T-shirts are on sale at both schools all week and at the game. All proceeds will go toward helping Travis’ parents make their home accessible to Mills, his wife and child, when he completes rehab. The goal is to raise more than $7,000. North Branch and Birch Run play each year in a Wounded Warrior game and this year wanted to keep the money in state to help a local vet.
