Annual Warm Paws Gala next week

LAPEER — Paradise Animal Rescue will host its sixth annual “Warm Paws” Gala fundraiser on Saturday, February 19. The event, the largest fundraiser of the year for PAR, will take place at the Lapeer Center Building, 425 County Center St., Lapeer.

The evening gala begins at 6 p.m. and will feature a plated formal dinner, along with music and door prizes. There will both a silent and live auction. PAR is still seeking items to be donated for the auctions. They have already received a few large ticket items including a Detroit Lions signed football.

Suzie Berberich, owner of Blue Moon Quilting Studio in Dryden, has donated a queen size quilt for the auction. The cotton quilt was pieced together by Berberich and heavily quilted with free-hand designs.

“Warm Paws” Gala tickets cost $40 per person or $75 per couple. Students may purchase tickets at $20 a piece. All proceeds from the benefit will go toward Paradise Animal Rescue and their efforts to save local cats and dogs from being abused or euthanized.
