Photos by LISA PAINE AREAWIDE — The new league that is no longer part of the Lapeer Community Schools kicked off the season Tuesday at area elementary schools. Fourth and five grade students are eligible to play this year, but league president Paul Gilbert says that mainly fifth graders came out this year. It is hoped that fourth graders will round out the teams next year.
