Vanhouten to replace Pittenger at West
      LAPEER — Tony Vanhouten, an assistant under girls’ soccer coach Marc Pittenger has been tagged to replace Pittenger, hired last week by Davison to champion their girls soccer program. Pittenger took over the boys’ program at Davison last March after Steve Applebee stepped down from the position.

      LAPEER — Longtime West teacher, counselor and coach David “KP” Kirkpatrick will be remembered Friday, Feb. 12 in what the school has dubbed KP Fight Cancer Night. Kirkpatrick passed away last March after a courageous battle with cancer.

Cardinals fall to BWAC power
      RICHMOND — Dryden found out the hard way just how good the Richmond Blue Devils are, losing, 26-4, in action played on Saturday at Striker’s Lanes. The Cardinals, which fall to 0-4 on the year, won the opening Baker game, 177-147, before falling on hard times and dropping the second Baker, 214-136.
