DEERFIELD TWP. — A North Lapeer Road woman told the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. Dec. 26 that thieves took $8,000 from her home. There is a suspect.

TV, jewels gone

ATTICA TWP. — A South Five Lakes Road woman told the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. Dec. 26 that she arrived home to find burglars had taken her television, jewelry and other items.

Shots fired

MAYFIELD TWP. — A Fish Lake Road man told Central Dispatch Dec. 26 that he heard two high-powered gun shots to the east of his home.

Hear ye, hear ye

LAPEER — A North Court Street woman told Lapeer City Police Dec. 23 that her neighbor was outside her home yelling “crack sold here” and calling her unkind names.

Loud barkers

DEERFIELD TWP. — A Huckleberry Drive man told Central Dispatch Dec. 27 that the neighbors’ dogs had been barking non-stop for hours. Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies found a dog running loose in the neighborhood. Animal Control was notified.

Vehicle break-ins

LAPEER — A Washington Street man told Lapeer City Police Dec. 27 that burglars took a GPS unit from his 2001 Ford F-150. He said they also broke into his 2009 Chevrolet work van and a neighbor’s car.

Now fare is fair

HADLEY TWP. — An LA Taxi cabbie told Central Dispatch Dec. 27 that he gave two people a ride from a bar in Davison to a home on Hadley Road. The driver said it appeared that he’d been paid with two $20 bills, but then he discovered one of them had been torn in half. After talking with Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies, the passengers paid the driver.

Not artful

IMLAY CITY — An employee at Taco Bell on South Cedar Street told Imlay City Police Dec. 27 that vandals paint-balled the side of the building. Bad night

ELBA TWP. — A West Sutton Road woman told the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. Dec. 27 that an apparently intoxicated man was on the porch of an Abbey Lane home. The man, who was bleeding from his nose, told deputies the homeowners assaulted him, but he refused medical attention. Deputies took the man into custody after they discovered he was being sought by police in Macomb County on a traffic warrant.

Mailboxes downed

DEERFIELD TWP. — A Skelton Road man told Central Dispatch Dec. 27 that vandals knocked his mailbox over the night before. He said it’s an ongoing problem.

ATTICA TWP. — An Atwell Road woman told Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies Dec. 27 that vandals have been tearing down her mailbox.

DEERFIELD TWP. — A Miller Lake Road man told the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. Dec. 27 that a neighbor knocked over his mailbox while doing donuts in the street. After speaking with deputies, the neighbor agreed to fix the mailbox.

Unwelcome trims

METAMORA TWP. — A Baldwin Road resident told Metamora Township Police Dec. 27 that a neighbor has been cutting trees down on their property without permission.
