City of Lapeer | The Lapeer Area View lapeerareaview Lapeer, MI Code Enforcement: The City of Lapeer is looking to fill a Code Enforcement Officer position for the City of Lapeer Police Department. The following is a summary of job description for this position. This position is responsible for enforcement of City Ordinances pertaining to blight, improper signage, grass, weeds, and brush removal, clearance of snow and ice from sidewalks, abandon vehicles and in-operable vehicles, and garbage removal. Primary responsibilities include daily patrolling of the City of Lapeer looking and acting on ordinance violations and to write warnings when needed and tickets when enforcement is required. This person will also coordinate mowing and snow removal and garbage removal. Support to other services of the department will be assigned as needed. The employee will be expected to exercise initiative and work with minimal supervision and to use good judgment where compliance is the key with this position. This is a part-time position with flexible hours working up to 29 hours per week at a rate of pay up to $11.00 per hour after a probationary period. This person must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License and No criminal record. Must be able to read and write in the English language. Retirees are encouraged to apply.
